Abstrakt: The Tijuana Estuary in Southern California has been successfully preserved from development and remains a thriving salt marsh ecosystem. It is home to a diverse range of bird species, including endangered ones, and has been protected through community mobilization and political coalitions. However, the estuary now faces new challenges due to climate change, emphasizing the need for restoration and adaptation efforts. The estuary serves as a symbol of the significance and vulnerability of coastal ecosystems. Efforts are being made to address issues such as sewage pollution and to educate people about waste management to prevent further harm to the estuary. [Extracted from the article]
