Abstrakt: Anne Harris, a fiddle player, has collaborated with Amanda Ewing, the first recognized African American woman violin luthier in the United States, to commission a violin. This marks the first time in US history that a violin has been made between two professional Black women. Harris's love for the violin began at a young age, and she has explored various art forms, including dance and theater. Her encounter with Otis Taylor in 2008 led her to delve into blues music, which has had a profound impact on her sound and career. Harris is a highly respected blues musician who has spent nearly ten years touring and recording with Otis Taylor. She has since immersed herself in the Chicago blues scene, collaborating with various artists. Harris believes that music has the potential to heal and bring hope in a world that is facing many challenges, and she hopes to contribute to a more compassionate and equitable society through her art.
