Environmental engineering is one of the key areas of sustainable development. However, at some universities in Romania there is a decrease in the number of students in this field, respectively in the interest of high school graduates for it. This is also the situation of the Engineering and Environmental Protection in Industry specialization at the Faculty of Engineering of the "Lucian Blaga" University in Sibiu. The most important objectives of the paper were: centralizing the opinions of the students from the analyzed specialization regarding the elements that make it attractive or less attractive, collecting their suggestions for improvement and confirming the fact that young Romanians consider this specialization of great importance for the future of the planet.
