Abstrakt: This article discusses the importance of mentorship in higher education, specifically in the field of public affairs education. Mentorship is defined as the informal transmission of knowledge, social capital, and psychosocial support between a mentor and a protégé. The article highlights the benefits of mentorship for both graduate students and faculty members, including emotional support, career satisfaction, and increased research output. However, mentorship in public affairs education is still evolving and lacks a one-size-fits-all approach. The article presents seven studies on mentorship in public affairs education, addressing topics such as gender and racial factors, intersectionality, the needs of women faculty, challenges faced by faculty at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and the integration of mentoring into online programs. The authors emphasize the importance of diverse and equitable mentorship to support the success of students and faculty in a changing and diverse society. [Extracted from the article]
