Abstrakt: This article discusses the need for new perspectives and approaches in disability studies, emphasizing the importance of including racial and colonial histories in the understanding of disability. It highlights the intersections between race and disability and the need for diverse voices and experiences, including those of Asian Americans and other marginalized communities. The article explores the representation of disability in Asian American literature and the experiences of disabled Asian American artists. It also calls for inclusive and ethical citation practices and revisiting disability histories to include marginalized racial perspectives. Additionally, the article summarizes a special issue on disability studies that focuses on the intersections of race, colonialism, and disability, including the experiences of disabled Black women in the US and disabled Palestinians. The editors express solidarity with disabled Palestinians and call for a decolonized Palestine for disability justice. [Extracted from the article]
