The article presents a list of research fund contributors who have made it possible for the journal "High Country News" to uncover the stories on the West U.S.'s public lands, people and communities. Some of the sponsors are the Fortview Foundation, Annette Aguayo, R. Thomas Beach, Carol A. Brewer, Paul Alaback, Barbara B. Brown, Caroline Byrd, Catherine Campbell, Phillip Davis, Mary Ann Matthews, Jim Murdock, Michael Paine, Elizabeth Baca, Josephine P.
