Abstrakt: A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers at Aarhus University in Denmark aimed to synthesize existing evidence on the effect of experimental emotion induction on experimental pain in nonclinical adults. The review included 71 independent studies and found that positive emotion induction had a statistically significant pain-attenuating effect, while negative emotion induction had a pain-exacerbating effect in within-group analyses but not between-group analyses. The findings suggest that emotions can influence pain, but there is considerable heterogeneity across studies, limiting the generalizability of the findings. The research article provides more detailed information on the study. [Extracted from the article]
