The article discusses the more common approaches to high-temperature superconductor (HTS) junction fabrication and optimization, with a focus on potential digital circuit applications. Josephson junctions are the fundamental building blocks for a variety of superconducting electronics applications, including high-speed, low-power digital logic, and sensitive magnetic field and high-frequency electromagnetic detectors. Fabrication of HTS Josephson junctions is complicated by the materials properties of the high-temperature superconductors. |
