Abstrakt: The article reviews the various parallelization techniques proposed to speed up the existing computational partial differential equation (PDE) models. The plethora of numerical elliptic PDE solvers can be distinguished and classified by the levels of grid/mesh used to approximate the continuous PDE model, that is, single-level or multilevel, the refinement of the grid as a function of the discretization error in an intermediate computed solution, that is, static or dynamic and the implementation structure of the PDE software, that is, multisegment or single segment.
