he article discusses the potential of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) writing tools like ChatGPT in the 21 century. It argues that educators can design effective writing prompts for GenAI tools by utilizing knowledge of genre, register, and grammar, as outlined in the Australian Curriculum: English (ACE); and explores how functional grammar concepts related to genre and contextual register variables can inform the creation of prompts for GenAI writing tools. |
