Power politics and cultural propaganda were both tools of the international strategy of Italy, after the Ethiopian War as the government of Rome was trying to engage the United Kingdom. All that implied larger interaction of colonial and European policies and diversified shades in the attitude of actors. Giacinto Auriti and Giuseppe Tucci were two characters who played a significant role in such framework which is still worth additional investigation. The hypothesis is reasonable that the idea of enlarging the Italian influence in East Asia was cultivated by them to some extent independently of the pro-German circles of the establishment.
