This article presents views of Mei Ling Denney, general practitioner, about the MRCGP video component which is an integrated logistic support tool for medical purposes. Denney who is also the examiner of MRCGP says that the logistics of taking a video in consultations is a complicated business. The MRCGP video component will ask to submit examples of actual consultations practitioner have conducted in the surgery. Denney suggests to start videoing consultations as early as possible with checking the equipment a surgery practitioner needs to use. If the practitioner is a bit of a technophobe, he should find somebody who is familiar with the camera and recording equipment to give him/her a hand. It is important that the surgery staff understand surgeon's need to video consultations, so it is a good idea to put a notice in reception stating that consultations are being recorded for training purposes. |
