This article presents a research guide to the biography of English poet Thomas Campion. Campion was born on February 12, 1567 in London, England. He studied in Cambridge, England but did not received a degree until he received a medical degree from the University of Caen in France in 1605. He was a suspect in the murder of Sir Thomas Overbury in 1615. The poet and lyricist died in 1620. The standard editions of Campion's works are: Percival Vivian; The Workes of Thomas Campion: Complete Songs, Masques, and Treatises, with a Selection of Latin Verse, edited by Walter R. Davis. |
