Abstrakt: Argues that the ecologically unfriendly activities of oil transnational corporations (TNC) and the state's petroleum development policies lead to poverty in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. Environmental degradation caused by poverty; Renewable and non-renewable natural resources in the Niger Delta Region; Ecologically unfriendly exploitation of oil and gas; State policies that expropriate the indigenous people's of the Niger Delta of their rights to natural resources.
