Woot, a naturally durable fiber, offers many opportunities to keep a product in use for a relatively long duration and reduces tbe product's environmental footprint. For ages. tbe old wool garments were discarded as sboddy which were recycled to produce woolen blankets. Today recycling has become a necessity; not because of the shortage of any item but to control and protect the environment. Recycling is one of the most promising ways to control pollution. The present paper discusses the benepts of recycling waste, the environmental impact of wool recycling, process sequence for mechanical recycling (closed-loop system) of woold~recycling of woolen textiles andcarpets.
