Abstrakt: The article discusses the issue of language repair in schools and the need to center Black voices in language development. Topics include Language repair is the act of correcting linguistic form, when teachers alter language to match the educational setting; and comparison and privileging of certain English skills is problematic as it creates space for students to discover and practice the beauty of language to create classroom homeplace.
