The article discusses works of artist John Louis Petit special the 'Remarks' Drawings. Topics include Petit's significant work of Christian art, the 290 pen and ink drawings that he completed in about one year from late 1839 for his first book, "Remarks on Church Architecture"; the Gothic Revival for church architecture from 1841 and his distinctive paintings and drawings; and the 'Remarks' that was considered such as Edward Freeman, to be the greatest work on architecture by a living author. |
