The need to analyze the oil subsector, which generates critical infrastructure, comes in the context in which the possible occurrence of cases of non-energy supply, or the unexpected rise in prices, generates major issues of national interest, with European and NATO implications. The authors consider that addressing the oil subsector is a strictly national security issue because the lack of oil, natural gas or fuel can cause enormous damage to households, industry and the national economy, which are almost dependent on the oil subsector.
