The article discusses risk associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) disease. Topics discussed include that between 10% to 30% of individuals with NAFLD will develop non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and some will progress to cirrhosis, risk factors for NAFLD include obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidaemia and discussed that liver fibrosis stage is the key predictor for NAFLD progression. |
