Abstrakt: Lipomas are common benign neoplasms that affect adipose tissue–containing organs. The lesion is observed in middle‐aged individuals and has a rare oral cavity occurrence. This study reports a case of lipoma in the zygomatic region. A 25-year-old female patient was referred with the main complaint of swelling causing facial asymmetry of 7 months' duration. The clinical exam showed a soft painful swelling in the condylar region. Computed tomography revealed a well-defined hyperdense mass between the periosteum and the muscular layers. Incisional biopsy revealed a lipoma. Total excision was performed, and histopathologic exam revealed the proliferation of well-circumscribed mature lipocytes surrounded by a thin fibrous capsule. A final diagnosis of lipoma was made. The postoperative course was uneventful, and no recurrence was observed after 6-month follow-up. Given its noninvasive behavior and low recurrence rate, surgical conservative management should be regarded as the best therapeutic option for oral lipoma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
