In the introduction to the section on "Global Histories" on the church's website, it states: "While most Latter-day Saints understand that the Church is a global faith, the history of the Church in many parts of the world is not well known. This is being accomplished by the establishment of Records Preservation Centers (RPC) throughout the world, the service of local church history advisers, and the service of church history missionaries. Our Church History Mission to Australia We served as the first church history missionary couple in Australia from 2015 to 2017.[2] Our responsibilities included the following: Organizing and maintaining the Records Preservation Center in Sydney, Australia Collecting historical church records from Australia Starting the process of cataloging the records we collected Doing oral histories Scanning and digitizing historical records Processing the annual histories from the stakes and missions in Australia Working under the direction of the country church history advisers in Australia We did not have any special connection to Australia before we were called.
