This chapter provides tips for accepting oneself. One important factor in learning to accept the bodies as they are is to shift focus from weight loss, body measurements, or numbers on a scale to overall health and fitness. It is not just what people put into their bodies, but how much that can help or hurt them. Too little food can make them weak and prone to disease; too much can cause them to gain excess weight. Drinking enough water is vital for feeling energetic and clearheaded. Water also helps the bodies' systems function properly and get rid of bodily wastes. |
