However, I attended most if not all flood-related public meetings and can't recall Mayor Snodgrass ever snubbing Blokland. It is folly to suggest Mayor Snodgrass failed to acknowledge Blokland's efforts. Indeed, I personally heard Snodgrass publicly thank Blokland for his yeoman service several times during the 2013 campaign, at various public events and meetings in council's 2013-2017 term, and again when Blokland decided to not seek re-election in 2017.
