Abstrakt: This article presents information related to evaluating social work. The model described is essentially a variation of the "classical" experimental--control group design that is displayed and interprets in a way analogous to single-subject methodology. He indicates that this approach is consistent with the frequent agency practice of providing service to some individuals and placing others on waiting lists. The model described is essentially a variation of the "classical" experimental--control group design that displays and interprets in a way analogous to single-subject methodology. He indicates that this approach is consistent with the frequent agency practice of providing service to some individuals and placing others on waiting lists. However it also states that this approach meets the practitioner's need for program evaluation and may provide information to many sources, including clients about the effectiveness of an intervention. It is the author's contention that the model suggested is limited both in its general usefulness to practitioners who want to evaluate their treatment strategy and in its ability to provide information to those sources that demand evidence of accountability.
