With the continuous advancement of China's comprehensive, deepening reforms and cross-border integration in sports and education, the selection and training model of athletes based on three-level training network and the combination of sports and education was faced with narrow selection of talents, training with wrong orientation, with emphasis on physical training and negligence of academic study. These problems not only restricted the sustainable development of China's competitive sports, but also intensified the internal and external contradictions between sports and the education system. The opportunity of deepening the integration of sports and education made it possible to accelerate the building of China into a sports power based on the transformation, the building of a diversified athlete training channel guided by the trend, the strengthening of the people-oriented training concept with the goal of sustainable development. Moreover, the working mechanism should be strengthened to, the foundation of integration of sports education should be consolidated, the main role of educational departments should be strengthened, the effective mechanism of talent supply and demand. Measures should be suited to local conditions, sports reserve resources should be exploited, orderly competition systems should be established in order to promote the rational and efficient flow of talents.
