Topics discussed include evidence of snake veneration in the context of rain and fertility rites dating back to the Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze ages; aspects of a dualism in the iconography of snakes; and misappropriation of the caduceus as a symbol of medical or health related organizations. |
