In the presented case report, early workup and referral after incidental identification of a thymic mass resulted in timely diagnosis and complete resection of a thymic carcinoma, an aggressive thymic epithelial cell malignancy. Early detection and follow-up was key in allowing for complete surgical resection of early stage carcinoma and thus greater predicted survivability. With regard to operative management of surgical disease, this case illustrates how diligent follow-up of incidental findings can positively influence patients' post-operative courses and outcomes.
