Abstrakt: The article focuses on memorialization of a heavy machine but on the production, imagery and consumption of a soft drink. It mentions history of Cola production and consumption in the GDR and the development of East Germans' attitudes toward Western consumption with omnipresent label of Ostalgie. It also mentions narrative that connects GDR-period consumption with post-unification relations between East and West Germans.
