Details a collaborative efforts which aimed to compare the shark populations at Scott Reef and at Mermaid Reef Nature Reserve in Western Australia. Decline in the number of sharks on Scott Reef; Move by the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to commission the Australian Institute of Marine Science to develop and apply innovative approaches to compare shark populations at the marine reserves; Difference in the species composition and abundance of sharks between the Mermaid Reef Nature Reserve and the Scott Reef. |
