Abstrakt: As global warming continues to intensify, the ecological environment continues to deteriorate, and the concept of low-carbon environmental protection is getting deeper and deeper. The consumption of wood and other materials by the traditional publishing industry has seriously affected the development process of low-carbon environmental protection. In order to analyze the low-carbon and economic advantages of digital publishing, this article first starts from the industrial chain of traditional industries, analyzes the main sources of carbon emissions in the traditional publishing industry, proposes the calculation method of carbon emissions in the publishing industry, and analyzes the industrial chain of the digital publishing industry and its advantages in lowcarbon and environmental protection. Statistics show that the national paper consumption increased from 900,000 tons in 2000 to a peak of 1.3 million tons in 2012, with an average annual growth rate of 4%. It began to decline slightly in 2012 and dropped to about 1.2 million tons in 2019. The main reason is the continuous development of digital publishing, and the reliance on paper is gradually decreasing. Through the analysis of the sales of traditional publishing and digital publishing, the sales of digital publishing have increased year by year in the past 20 years, and sales have maintained a growth rate of nearly 30%. In 2019, it reached nearly 900 billion yuan, while the sales of paper books have gradually decreased. By 2019, the sales of digital publishing were about 11 times that of the traditional publishing industry, which fully reflects the economic advantages of low-carbon and environmentally friendly digital publishing.
