You hear the hens cackling and you go looking to find a nest of up to 20 eggs or so, laid over a period of days or weeks. Take a fake egg and mark it with a pencil or marker to leave as a "nest egg" so the hens will continue to lay there. If I have no egg containers, I use toilet paper rolls. P.S. When you find a nest that the hen is setting on to hatch eggs, mark all the eggs in the nest with a pencil. [Extracted from the article] |
