Abstrakt: Nonnative English speakers may hesitate or avoid accessing healthcare in the United States due to cultural and communication barriers. Role-play is effective as a method of reducing healthcare access due to inadequate communication skills. A role-play activity used with female Muslim immigrants to the United States enabled participants to develop communication skills and gain confidence for future interactions with a healthcare provider.
