Abstrakt: The paper has been designed to compare the influence of deferential association and social bonding theory on delinquency in Bangladesh. The study is descriptive in nature. 39 (11 girls and 28 boys) samples have been selected randomly by using lottery method from Kishoree Unnoyan Kendra, Konaban and Kishor Unnoyan Kendra, Togi. Social survey method is used to collect data. The univariate technique has been used for frequency presentation and bivariate technique for hypothesis testing. 'Chi square test9 technique has been used for hypothesis testing. Firstly, result shows that both theories have influence on delinquency. Secondly, the study indicated that delinquents have no access to favorable definition over unfavorable definition which is a major contradiction with the proposition of differential association theory. In other hand, both univariate and bivariate analysis shows that delinquents have low affection to their families and they do not share their daily activity with their family members, even they do not attend in family programs. Moreover, results of the study indicated that social bonding and commitment toward social institution of delinquents is low. Thirdly, only for drug related crime differential association has more influence than social bonding theory but for other type of crime this theory has less influence. Finally, the study concluded that social bonding theory has more influence to become delinquent than differential association theory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
