The article presents the discussion on Lyon celebrating the one hundred and fifty years of the birth of famous architect Tony Garnier. Topics include Garnier's heritage remaining extremely fragile and the protection measures being insufficient; monumental fireplaces being demolished in 2001 for security reasons; and strengthening of historic monument protections and creation of remarkable heritage sites. |
