Abstrakt: The article presents information on nonallergic rhinitis. Nonallergic rhinitis represents a non-immunoglobulin E-mediated group of disorders that share the symptoms of nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, and/or postnasal discharge. Classic "nonallergic" triggers include exposure to respiratory irritants such as smoke, perfumes, and chemicals; weather change; and consumption of spicy foods. Infrequently, exercise may induce rhinorrhea in a condition known as exercise-induced rhinorrhea; when spicy foods induce rhinorrhea it is known as vagally mediated gustatory rhinitis. To summarize, nonallergic rhinitis constitutes a heterogeneous group of disorders with a common set of symptoms including nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, and post-nasal drip.
