A cracked tooth is a confusing and difficult clinical entity in the dentistry. This clinical scenario poses a diagnostic challenge to the clinician. The cracks in the teeth may propagate coronally or from radicular portion of the teeth. Cracked teeth can occur both in healthy and endodontically treated teeth. Cracked tooth syndrome requires appropriate diagnosis and treatment planning as the signs and symptoms can be vague and misleading. Initial diagnosis of cracked teeth have proven to give a successful prognosis and the treatment can be kept as conservative as possible. This article highlights a detailed overview of etiology, signs, symptoms, classification and diagnosis and treatment modality of cracked teeth. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
