The article reports that James Aronson, Hunter College, New York, Left the United States in February 1979 at the invitation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to set up the first English language journalism institute in the People's Republic of China since 1949. The program is a graduate school of journalistic studies, serving students who will eventually work abroad in the international departments of Chinese newspapers and on English-language newspapers in China. Aronson will return to Hunter, where he is a professor, in the faIl. |
