The article reports on Cinema do lixo, which was a shortlived movement taking shape in downtown Sao Paulo in Brazil and producing around 20 films. The movement was accused of abandoning the most radical aspects of its aesthetics of hunger and selling out. Filmmakers such as Rogerio Sganzerla and Julio Bressane were rethinking and reshaping some of their early aesthetic and political ideas. |
