Abstrakt: To assess the ability of the change in portosystemic gradient to predict mortality after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) creation using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-covered stents. Post-TIPS, 339 patients (79.8%) had >50% decrease in the PG and 86 patients (20.2%) had <=50% decrease in the PG. There was significant decrease in TFS (P <0.05) and OS (P <0.01) in patients who had >50% PG reduction compared with those who had <=50% PG reduction. [Extracted from the article]
