This study investigated if students’ self-efficacy for self-regulation of learning in an undergraduate Calculus I course predicts student achievement and their successful completion of the course. Results indicated that students’ self-efficacy for self-regulated learning did significantly predict their achievement in the course. Also, greater self-efficacy for selfregulation was associated with an increased likelihood of passing. The results highlight the importance of educators to teach students self-regulatory skills and build students’ confidence in their ability to regulate their own learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
