Abstrakt: This article presents the procedures for sharing applications and files to multiple Mac users. To share music, users must put their library in a public place, quit iTunes and navigate to Users > Shared. For iTunes to work, it needs to see an iTunes folder in the Music folder, therefore an alias must be created in the old location that points to the shared folder. If other users want to share their music, they move their tunes into the Shared iTunes folder. Users can also se up a shared iPhoto library in which others can view, add and edit images. If others have photos they want to share, they consolidate all of their libraries into one shared collection. If movie editing is a collaborative effort, users do not need to edit under one user account, they just share an iMovie project. They log into whoever's account holds the project, and drag any iMovie project folder into Users > Shared. Anytime a user wants to edit a shared movie project, he or she just have that person log into an account and launch iMovie. If users want to share third-party applications, they need only install them in the main Applications folder and not in the desktop or in own user Applications folder. Any user can launch applications from the main folder, although he or she might not be able to share a specific user's preferences or data files for a particular application across accounts.
