The MRC Needs for Care Assessment is a standardized measure for evaluating need that would model the process of clinical judgment. The survey has been used with the long-term mentally ill in the community and for clients living in institutions. MRC Training for the Needs for Care Assessment is required. The interview is given by personnel who have extensive knowledge of the patient group and takes about 30 minutes. The instrument covers symptoms, behavior problems, and social and personal skills. Inter-rater reliability has been shown in a variety of cultural settings; however, no prior benchmarks exist to compare validity. MRC is not sensitive to minor changes. |
