The article reports on religious historian Edwin Oliver James' study on the history of religions over the last fifty years. He states that the year 1912 marked a significant date in the history of the scientific study of religions and mentions the works of researchers Emile Durkheim, Wilhelm Schmidt, Carl Gustav Jung, Sigmund Freud and Raffaele Pettazzoni's Primitive religion in Sardinia. |
