Abstract Requirements analysis is a key step in the process of the data warehouse design. It is the key element for the success of a data warehouse project since at the end of this phase, the multidimensional elements will be defined and the model designed. This paper presents the set of requirements driven methods for designing data warehouses and reveals the pros and cons of the two main used approaches. Then, it introduces a new user driven method that leverages all the potential of this approach. This new method is based not only on orienting users in their research via semantic analysis and parsing their search history, but also on the evolution of data marts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
