Abstrakt: The article presents a study focusing on the French Orléans-Longueville family in the beginning of the 16th century. Particular emphasis is given to several financial, diplomatic, and architectural ordeals the family faced during that period, including paying the ransom for the release of Louis, duc de Longueville, being held prisoner in England during the reigns of Henry VIII, King of England, and Louis XII, King of France. Several documents reproduced in this article's appendices are also included.
