Jute Industry is known for its versatile natural fibers that have been used in raw materials for packaging, textiles, non-textile, construction, agricultural sectors and for its lengthy occupancies and long working hours. It is the industry with the most uncertain duty roasters. Work environment is heavy and sudden work pressures inducing lot of physical and mental labor. This frequently makes the employees to undergo major individual life changes and self-psychological adjustments causing perpetual transitions in identity. It eventually influences the working capabilities of employees. Hence, this research attempts to study quality of work life of employees working in jute industry and its impact on their job satisfaction and finally; on organization performance. The study presents a regression analysis of the job satisfaction and quality of work life of employees working in jute industries, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal states in India. Regression analysis results shows that, there is an impact of the quality of work life on job satisfaction. The results shown are meaningful and positive relationship between the dimensions of quality of work life and job satisfaction in jute industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
