The article examines the story on the Battle of Midway, published in 1942 by the "Chicago Tribune." Topics discussed include the U.S. Navy's allegation that the Tribune had leaked a national secret, the federal government's unsuccessful attempt in to indict the newspaper under the Espionage Act, and evidence of how Tribune war correspondent Stanley Johnston has obtained the facts for his story. |
