The article discusses the dream that entrepreneur Philo Dibble had which encouraged him to commission artists to create folk paintings that depict the history of the Mormon Church. Topics explored include the support given by religious leader Brigham Young to the plan of Dibble, the benefits of these paintings to Mormon Church members according to Dibble, and the artifact collection of Dibble which consists of death masks of Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith and his brother, Hyrum Smith. |
