The article presents a case study on the important role of attachment in therapy. It cites the case of a single mother, who had adopted nine-year old girl from a Russian orphanage, and developed a parent and child bonding. It also mentions how the opportunity presented by Elaine and the child offers chance for therapists to learn about the value of connectedness and safety that are usually relayed in nonverbal ways, which can be an effective attachment treatment. |
