The APG at PNNL has a maintained a record of highquality performance in areas related to NDT for structural integrity assessments. This success can be attributed, in part, to the flexibility afforded by the Laboratory's structure, which allows the NDT capabilities to draw on complementary technical capabilities that are maintained within other groups. In this way, multidisciplinary teams can be formed to meet unique challenges that sponsors present. The work that has been highlighted illustrates the capability to address a span of research challenges from applied research that focuses on assessing capability of existing NDT methods and technologies to more fundamental research that is focused on developing the new generation of technologies to facilitate awareness of structural conditions under increasingly demanding operating paradigms. The highlighted examples summarize work that has been, and is being, performed for government sponsors and is related to commercial nuclear power generation. Several examples of research performed for industry sponsors and for a wider array of industries (such as chemical processing) exist, but are not provided here for the sake of brevity and to protect the sponsors' commercial interests.
